Port Huron Schools is hosting two first-dose COVID-19 vaccine clinics this week aimed to help immunize students who meet the age eligibility.
The clinics are being held in partnership with the St. Clair County Health Department and U.S. National Guard. According to a clinic flyer, 800 appointments of the Pfizer vaccine are available and preregistration is required for students 16 and older.

Pfizer's vaccine has been nationally approved to accommodate recipients over 16.
"This will take place after school at both high schools in the cafeteria," the district's flyer read. "It is voluntary and designed to give our students easy access for those who want to participate (with parent permission). When a student gets the first dose, they are immediately scheduled for a second a few weeks later."
The first doses at Port Huron Northern High School are set for Tuesday with the second doses set for May 20. At Port Huron High School, doses are set for Thursday with second doses scheduled for May 19.
Clinics are free and will run from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Staff and families of students may also register, though these clinics are not walk-ins.
Students must bring a signed consent form, which can be found on the district's Google drive.
