Hi. I’ve never used a pre workout drink, what’s the verdicts on them? Do you use one? Do they work? Which are the better ones?
Cheers

Depends what you expect from them. Caffeine is the main thing that actually enhances performance. Most other stronger stimulants have been banned. NO ingredients can help give you a pump - but in my opinion this is a vanity thing and doesn't affect long term results.
I'd rather just have a double espresso.

I like them sometimes. Caffeine is always helpful, and I've found that the tingling from beta alanine still helps me kind of mentally get fired up, even though there's not really a performance benefit.
I tend to have coffee on my medium / light days, and preworkout on my heavy or high-volume days.
Pretty much go look around online or in a store, find a preworkout with around 200-300mg caffeine per serving, give it a try. Worst case scenario you're out like $30, best case you see a noticeable improvement in your workouts.BP: 275

I already drink a moderately high amount of caffeine on a regular basis, such that taking more before a workout seldom makes a noticeable difference. If you're not already a caffeine consumer, taking it in any form (coffee, energy drink, pre-workout) shortly before your training should result in a boost in performance; but if you're already habituated to caffeine, a pre-workout product will most likely not have anything else to recommend itself.
IMHO as a natty intermediate with a little bit of hindsight, most supplements besides whey protein are gimmicky and not helpful for much.Bench: 315
