COVID-19 missing dead woman’s gold jewelery, family members file police complaint

Hyderabad: The relatives of an old woman who died in a hospital in Gachibowli due to COVID-19 has filed a complaint with police about the missing of her gold jewelry.

According to police, an old couple was admitted to the hospital on April 19. While the man was discharged after his recovery, his wife, 70, died on April 18. The hospital authorities informed her family members about her death.

The next day, the relatives of the deceased reached the hospital to fetch her body. But they were shocked when they missed her 4 tolas gold jewelry.

When the family members asked the service staff about the missing gold jewelry, they gave vague answers. The family members lodged a complaint about the missing jewelery at the Gachibowli police station.

According to the police, the hospital authorities must ensure that the patient does not carry any valuable items during the admission, and this must be acknowledged by the family members of the patient.

The hospital authorities insist that the relatives of the deceased have given a letter of acknowledgment that there are no valuable items in the patient’s possession.

“In this regard, we have discussed a case and started our investigation to find out the truth,” a police officer said.
