Say whatever you want about mainstream mumble rap’s degenerate subject matter. I too am frustrated with what is pushed upon the masses. However Hip Hop as an art form is one of, if not the most innovative and impactful subculture in the world. Not because it’s mindless talking over drums like some claim, but because the music is so deep and full of unique elements that touch the soul of the listener.
You can’t sit here and tell me that a DJ finding an obscure piece of jazz, sampling a few seconds of it and creating one of the most iconic beats in New York rap is talentless.
You’re going to tell me that an emcee using intricate rhythm, complex rhyming patterns and wordplay to paint a vivid picture of a Vietnam veteran is talentless?
Nobody with a straight face can say turntablist flawlessly scratching and cutting classic records in such an infectious way that it moves an entire crowd is talentless...
Don’t let the dumbed down mainstream chit fool you. The talent that goes into creating quality Hip Hop music is perhaps greater than most genres.

You can't just throw an entire music style out the window simply because you don't like it. I don't listen to hip hop but I recognize the difference between quality hip hop and trash. Unfortunately, a lot of the mainstream hip hop and the general collective understanding of this music style is based off garbage examples. It's the same thing with pop music. It evokes images of boy bands and trash entertainers like katy perry and the like. But The Beatles are technically a pop band when you think of it. They're one of the most 'popular' bands of all time, if not the most popular.
Definitely disagree with that above opinion. Go and listen to Camel and get back to me with that hypothesis.*Look at reflection in car window and flex every time crew*
*Use half the roll to wipe after a poo crew*
*Fart in the gym and blame rotten smell on faulty ventilation crew*
*Fart at home and blame it on the dog crew*
*Watch neutron-star density poop mock me as water flushes around it and it stays put crew*
*Drive 2 minutes in the summer and back of shirt gets completely wet crew*
*Coffee black as midnight on a moonless night crew*
*Fat shame my cat on a daily basis crew*

The best that ever did it came from musical backgrounds and had developed a unique understanding of the nuances of rhyme patterns and beat making that stemmed from the funk and soul that they were exposed to in their youth. (Nas, Biggie, Rza, etc)
There is enough in the world for everyone's need, but not enough for everyone's greed.
