
Four people have been killed in a horrific collision along the N11, at Pepworth, near Ladysmith, KwaZulu-Natal on Sunday morning. It's been revealed that one of them was a mother who was pregnant with twins.
Claudine Senekal of the Ladysmith Herald reports that her toddler was also among the dead. The cause of the crash is unknown at this stage.
One driver has been detained by the Elandslaagte police for further questioning. A case of culpable homicide will be investigated. The dead, a man, two women and the child, have not yet been officially identified.
Robert McKenzie of EMS said the crash took place 20km from Ladysmith towards Newcastle. He said three vehicles were involved in the crash. "Paramedics treated six patients at the scene," said McKenzie.
