Kolkata Knight Riders opener Nitish re-entered top 6 of IPL 2021 Orange Cap Leaderboard in the match against Rajasthan Royals with 22 off 25. With 186 runs, he is currently placed at No 4. The right-handed batsman smashed a fifty off 48 deliveries at Chennai’s difficult turf where PBKS were bowled out for just 120 runs. In his innings, Jonny Bairstow hit 3 fours and 6 sixes. He is placed fifth on the list.
Rules for IPL Orange Cap
- The award is given to the leading run-scorer of the IPL season.
- The batsman with the most runs in the tournament during the season would wear the Orange Cap while in the field.
- In case of a tie, the batsman with a better strike rate is awarded the Orange Cap.
- The Orange Cap owner who is fielding is allowed to wear the Orange Cap till the end of the innings even if an opposition batsman has overtaken his runs.
