IPL 2021 Orange Cap: DC’s Shikhar Dhawan extends lead at top; CSK’s du Plessis in Top 3 – Delhi Capitals’ Shikhar Dhawan extended his lead at the top of the Orange Cap leaderboard scoring 28 against SRH on Sunday. In the first match of the day, Chennai Super Kings opening batsman Faf du Plessis has jumped to Top 3 places in Orange Cap leaderboard. He has scored over 200 runs in just 5 innings of the IPL 2021. On Sunday, he provided a top start to CSK against RCB.

Kolkata Knight Riders opener Nitish re-entered top 6 of IPL 2021 Orange Cap Leaderboard in the match against Rajasthan Royals with 22 off 25. With 186 runs, he is currently placed at No 4. Sunrisers Hyderabad opening Jonny Bairstow continued his top run in IPL 2021 while playing against Punjab Kings on Wednesday. The right-handed batsman smashed a fifty off 48 deliveries at Chennai’s difficult turf where PBKS were bowled out for just 120 runs. In his innings, Jonny Bairstow hit 3 fours and 6 sixes. He is placed fifth on the list.

Rules for IPL Orange Cap

  1. The award is given to the leading run-scorer of the IPL season.
  2. The batsman with the most runs in the tournament during the season would wear the Orange Cap while in the field.
  3. In case of a tie, the batsman with a better strike rate is awarded the Orange Cap.
  4. The Orange Cap owner who is fielding is allowed to wear the Orange Cap till the end of the innings even if an opposition batsman has overtaken his runs.
