Apr. 25—A McAdoo woman struggled with police as they attempted to take her into custody for warrants on April 8, court papers say.

Joelene M. Moon, 33, faces resisting arrest, use or possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct, all misdemeanors. She was taken to jail after failing to immediately post $5,000 set by Magisterial District Judge Daniel O'Donnell, Butler Twp., on April 20.

Police found her at Econo Lodge, 10 Woodmere Drive on April 8 around 10:30 p.m. when they responded there for a domestic incident.

According to arrest papers:

Moon was found standing in a room next to a dresser that had a smoking pipe containing suspected marijuana. She had one bench warrant for failure to appear in Schuylkill County and two bench warrants in Luzerne County.

When ordered to put her hands behind her back, she pulled away from the officers and began to struggle and fight with them. Moon was told several times to stop, but she wouldn't cease and attempted to release a dog that was secured in a crate near her.

Officers used force to overcome her and had to carry her out of the room with assistance from Freeland police, due to her continued resistance.

Outside, in the parking lot, she yelled obscenities.
