KOKRAJHAR, April 24: A huge cache of arms and ammunition belonging to the newly-floated militant National Liberation Front of Boroland (NLFB) was recovered from Ripu Reserve Forest under Gossaigaon subdivision in Kokrajhar district on Saturday morning.
Based on the basis of specific input regarding the consignment of arms which was supposed to be delivered to NLFB group, an joint search operation was launched by 31st Bn SSB Gossaigaon with state police under command of L. Nipathoi Singh, deputy commandant, 31st Bn SSB Gossaigoan and Sourav Gupta, SDPO Gossaigaon in general area of Ripu Reserve Forest on Friday night.
On Saturday morning on Ride No. 2 near Nobinagar village of Ripu Reserve Forest under Kachugaon Police out Post, the operation party seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition.
The recovery include 87 gelatin sticks, 20 detonator non electric, 2 country made rifle, 3mm pistol with magazine, 10 nos of 5.56 mm ball amns, one Chinese grenade, 2 coils of safety fuse wire, 1 bundles of electric wire, four 12-volt battery, two pressure cooker, 4 bicycles, 2 axes and others.
The search operation still continued and teams are searching the jungle, said a senior police officer in Kokrajhar.
