Centre has allocated 194 Metric tonne oxygen per day to Bihar to meet challenges of scarcity of oxygen in many hospitals of the state.
The tankers of liquid oxygen will come to the state everyday from the plants of West Bengal and Jharkhand. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced that free treatment will be given to all covid patients at IGIMS, Patna. Mr Kumar said the state government will bear all expenses in this regard.
Meanwhile, 12 thousand 672 fresh cases of Covid -19 were reported in the state yesterday. 121 deaths were also reported. With this, casualties due to pandemic have gone upto two thousand ten. Maximum positive cases of two thousand 801 reported from Patna.
Active cases in the state have gone upto 76 thousand 419 and they are undergoing treatment at different hospitals. Recovery rate is decreasing and it is now at 79.28 percent. Over three lakh patients have so far recovered from infection.
77 thousand 466 people took vaccine yesterday. Over 64 lakh 63 thousand 259 people have so far been vaccinated in the state.
