According to a recent survey in the US, smartphone addiction is increasing the anger of young children. Children's screen time has increased in the Corona era. Apart from schooling, a lot of his time is spent watching online videos or playing games. This is affecting the eyes, they are also complaining of irritability, etc.

In such a situation, dancing can not only keep the children physically but also mentally healthy. This brings discipline to them. A connection is made in the mind-body. Creativity increases. Children recognize the talent hidden within them. This is the reason that these days, as a skill, learning dance is also being taken as therapy. A large number of children and adolescents are becoming part of the 'Dance Movement Therapy' campaign.

Choreographer, dance therapist, and co-founder of the 'Creative Movement Therapy Association of India' Ritu Jain has been working with teenagers for years. Under this, through the creative movement, they teach them to find themselves, express their ideas, communicate with others. She is also pursuing a Ph.D. in expressive therapies from Lesley University in the US. Ritu says that she is unique in dance in that it fills a person with new energy and expectations. So when Kovid-19 knocked, he decided to do something for the people in the house. This was followed by the online therapeutic session, 'Movement on Weekend' (MoW). Any interested person could join this session for free. She says, "We designed a very simple program, in which anyone can learn about self-care in this difficult time." We also organized special sessions for differently-abled children and the elderly.

The specialty of these sessions is that children can share their minds. They are motivated to explore themselves. Confidence comes in them. They feel empowered. ”According to Ritu, creative movement therapy, also known as dance movement therapy, focuses on the physical, emotional, cognitive, and sociality of the individual along with the body movement. A person feels relieved by the sensation that comes from it. There is no technical dance step, but the dance therapist consists of verbs consisting of Indian classical dances and folk dances. Believing Kathak dancer Anshita Puri of Delhi, dance not only communicates positivity, but it also concentrates the mind. Keeps away from stress. That's why when I started taking online dance classes in the Corona period, contrary to expectation, children and young people from different countries of the world showed interest in it, apart from India. He says that earlier I could only teach Kathak to the children and youth of the city. Now children from different states and other countries including Kerala are also coming forward to learn this dance.
