Haryana Police Arrested 3 Inter-state drug peddlers

 

Chandigarh, April 23: In a major break-through, Haryana Police has busted an interstate narcotic drug racket and arrested three persons in this connection from Sirsa district. The police also recovered 900 gram of heroin that was to be supplied in Rajasthan and Punjab areas, besides Ellenabad in Sirsa.

Giving this information here today, Haryana Police spokesperson informed that the value of the recovered heroin in the international market is worth crores of rupees.

Arrested accused were identified as Amandeep Singh, a native of Punjab, Gurmeet Singh of Rajasthan and Nanak Singh, a resident of Ellenabad in Sirsa.

Initial investigation revealed that they had brought the seized contraband from Delhi for supply in Rajasthan, Punjab and Ellenabad areas. One each case under NDPS Act had already been registered against Amandeep and Gurmeet Singh. It has also been revealed that arrested accused were involved in the drug trafficking trade in Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan areas for a long time.

A police team of Anti-Narcotic Cell was conducting checking of vehicles at a naka on Hisar road area. Based on suspicion, the police stopped a car and when searched, recovered 900 gram of heroin from the possession of the arrested accused.

A Case under NDPS Act was registered against them and further investigation to ascertain the name of others involved in this network of drug-peddling is underway.

Meanwhile, DGP Haryana, Sh. Manoj Yadava has appreciated the efforts put in by Sirsa SP and his team, who are relentlessly contributing to completely weed out the drug menace from the state.
