The founding fathers were rich landowners/slaveowners who didn't want to pay their taxes.
The American revolution was just like pretty much every other revolution - the oligarchy overthrowing the dictator, and then taking their place.
Also, a document written 250 years ago is bound to have some flaws when use try to use it to govern modern culture and technology. Even the language has changed.
