Mukesh Ambani, the richest person in Aisa, has acquired the British country club Stoke Park. Ambani led Reliance Industries paid 57 million pounds to close the deal. Current deal will strengthen the Reliance operations in Hospitality industry further. Reliance already has stake in Oberoi Hotels and residency that is under development.
Stoke Park and other Major Acquistions by Reliance
Reliance is on acquisition spree from last few years. The business giant has invested over $3.3 billion in the different sectors to acquire known firms. Among the major acquisitions, it has invested 14% in retail, 80% in tech based firms, media, and telecom sector, and 6% in energy.
Stoke park, the latest acquired firm by Reliance, is a prestigious country club in Buckinghamshire, UK. It has luxurious golf club, hotel, and other units. Talking about the Stoke Park acquisition, Reliance said on Thursday:
“Reliance Industrial Investments and Holdings Ltd (RIIHL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited, has on April 22, 2021, acquired the entire issued share capital of Stoke Park Limited, a company incorporated in the United Kingdom, for 57 million pounds.”
Stoke Park Limited has plenty of facilities including sporting infrastructure and leisure facilities. Reliance wants to enhance the Stoke Park infrastructure further. Talking about the same, Reliance said:
“RIIHL will look to enhance the sports and leisure facilities at this heritage site, while fully complying with the planning guidelines and local regulations.”
Stoke Park is the second major acquisition of Reliance in UK. Earlier, it acquired well known British toy firm Hamleys in 2019.
