Puducherry: 4 days Lockdown in Puducherry from 10 pm tonight, know what will be open and what will be closed?

Union Territory of Puducherry is also not untouched by the outbreak of Corona infection. As such, the administration has decided to impose a complete lockdown in view of the increasing number of Kovid patients who came here on the day. In Puducherry, the lockdown will remain in force from 10 pm on Friday (23 April) to 5 am on Monday (26 April).

Let us tell you that the night curfew was in force in Puducherry earlier, but in view of the increasing cases of corona infection on Tuesday, Lt Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan ordered a total lockdown of four days here. Depending on the situation, the lockdown period can also be extended.


Rules during lockdown

All shops and business establishments except the essential services will be allowed to trade only till two o'clock in the afternoon.

Hotels and restaurants will be allowed to sell food items in the parcel after two o'clock.

Home delivery services may remain open until 10 pm.

Only 100 people can attend the wedding, while only 50 people can attend the funeral.

No religious processions or festivals will take place at places of worship while prayer will be allowed with adherence to security protocols.

987 new cases of corona registered

Director of Health and Family Welfare Service S Mohan Kumar said that 987 new cases of Kovid-19 were registered in Puducherry on Thursday. With this, the total cases of corona here increased to 50 thousand 580. On the same day, the total active cases in the Union Territory were 5 thousand 923, in which 4,016 patients were in home isolation.

726 people lost their lives

At the same time, 726 people died due to this deadly disease. This led to mortality and recovery rates of 1.44 percent and 86.85 percent respectively. The director said that during the last 24 hours 464 people have also been cured of this contagious disease, who have been discharged from various hospitals. He said that so far, 30 thousand 657 healthcare workers and 18 thousand 174 frontline workers have been given the dose of Corona vaccines.
