Sure, an above-average wagecel can save some money each year and grow it in the market. They might have a million saved by retirement, or even $5m if they're particularly frugal.
But the real money is consolidated in the hands of people who just got incredibly lucky. Bezos started a bookstore and now he's the richest man on earth. Zuckerberg wanted to be popular, now he's worth $80bn and controls the outcomes of elections. Google started as a university extra credit project.
Not to mention all the people who fell out of the right vagina and inherited.
Tell me again why these guys deserve that much wealth?

I can't even imagine being this pathetic.
I know way too many people that are unlucky, not that bright and self made.
One of my better friends went from homeless to cop to rich landlord in 30 years. He was dealt a really sh!tty hand and even had a few gun in his mouth moments. Another friend came to America 30 years ago with absolutely nothing and worked his way up to doing renovations for the likes of Patriots and Red Sox players.Eat in a deficit to lose weight.

Imagine someone has a winning lottery ticket and like a dumbass they read it wrong and throw it away thinking its a loser.
The wind grabs it and blows it into a tree.
You see it but its up pretty far and will be a PITA to grab and you are sure its a loser anyway so why bother.
You then go home and complain to the misc about how all rich people are just lucky.Eat in a deficit to lose weight.

Closer to 85%
The class you're born into is most of it.
Zuccc is a particular nationality who found his connections at Harvard for something anyone could program in a few days.
Bezos was like best in his class at Princeton and worked for some top hedge funds or something first. He had already made it in other fields.

Tradie to millionaire isn't hard.
The fastest I have ever seen it happen was 4 years. My buddy Josh started going 100% at rental real estate buying absolute disasters and doing all the work himself aside from the stuff you need a license for.
He bought his first place 4 years ago and his net worth will cross 1 million in June. He is absolutely busting his ass though and 4 years is one hell of an accomplishment but it goes to show that it can be done.Eat in a deficit to lose weight.

Everyone thinks this but it is really quite improbable.
Inb4 you get a rare form of cancer, draining your savings
Inb4 you hurt your spine and can never work again, now you retired at 45 instead of 65 RIP your nest egg
Inb4 war, famine, economic collapse destroys your US-based investments (and your job), happens more often than you might think.

OP isn’t wrong. Part of it is putting yourself in a position to get lucky too though. But once you do that it really is luck. Most people obviously will never make jack sh*t
