Telangana reported 6,206 new COVID-19 cases, 29 deaths

Hyderabad: Telangana reported 6,206 fresh COVID-19 cases, which raised the score to more than 3.79 lakh, while the toll rose to 1928 with another 29 deaths, the highest ever in one day, the state government said Friday.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) made the most cases with 1,005, followed by Medchal Malkajgiri (502) and Nizamabad (406), it said in a bulletin with details from 8pm on April 22nd.

Telangana, Minister and Prime Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s son, KT Rama Rao, said in a tweet on Friday that he was positive about the virus.

‘I have been tested COVID positive with mild symptoms.

On April 19, an official statement said KCR had tested positive for the virus and had mild symptoms.

The total number of cumulative cases in the state was 3,79,494, while 3,052 patients were cured, the total recovery was 3,24,840.

Active cases

The state has 52,726 active cases and more than 1.05 lakh samples were tested on Thursday.

Cumulatively, more than 1.22 peak samples were tested.

The samples tested per million inhabitants were more than 3.29 lakh, according to the bulletin.

The death rate in the state was 0.50 percent, while it was 1.1 percent nationally.

The recovery rate in Telangana was 85.59 percent while it was 83.9 percent in the country.

The state has 304 active microcontroller zones.

According to a separate release, more than 31.59 lakh people in the state received their first dose COVID-19 vaccine while more than 4.42 lakh also received their second shot on 22 April.
