The second wave of the novel coronavirus has taken the country by storm with record cases being reported every single day. Now, actor Amit Sadh has spoken about the same and expressed his disbelief at people who are using their social media platforms to flaunt their privileged life. Amit emphasised, "How can I talk about a project when my country is suffering? How can I be so shameless and selfish."
During an interaction with Hindustan Times, Amit expressed his anger with how things are unfolding in the country, and how some people are turning a blind eye to it.
"It has been troubling me. For me, this is not the best time to put my silly pictures and motivate. Insaan motivate tab hota hai jab woh khush hota hai, jab kaam hota hai (A human being gets motivated when he is happy, when he has work)," Amit said.
Amit also said that it is not the right time to "show how privileged we are and rub it on people who’re struggling". According to Amit, people right now are being "insensitive" with the kind of tone they are adapting for their social media.
He said, "They are not asking the people about their hardships, and just putting pictures, or I did this and that or bought that, or this is my next movie. I am a part of it too. I am disgusted with myself too, and that’s why I stopped it. This is not the time to flaunt the privileges. In India, I’m just a little upset with how rich people are behaving as if COVID hua hi nahi hai, and humare liye covid hua hi nahi hai. That is not a good and very insensitive message."
In conclusion, Amit said, "I don’t know how we are being relevant by showing our privileged life on Instagram."
