After announcing the Realme 8 series last month, Realme has now added another 5G smartphone to the lineup. The Realme 8 5G has been revealed in Thailand which joins Realme 8 Pro as the second 5G phone in the family. It is still a mid-range phone but is packed with slightly different specifications than the standard Realme 8.

The Realme 8 5G sports a 6.5-inch Full HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) punch-hole display. The panel supports up to 90Hz refresh rate, 600 nits of brightness, 90.5% screen-to-body ratio, and 405PPI pixel density. Under the hood, it has the MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor coupled with 8GB of RAM. It has 128GB of UFS 2.1 onboard storage with microSD card support.

The camera module on the back gives the impression of a quad-camera setup but it actually has just three cameras. These include a 48-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture. It comes with camera features like AI Beauty Filters and Super Nightscape mode for improved low-light photos. The front camera is a 16-megapixel sensor and has night mode support as well.

The whole package is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. It has a USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 5.1, and NFC connectivity options. On the software front, it will boot Realme UI 2.0 based on Android 11 out of the box. The Realme 8 5G has been priced at THB 9,999 (about $319) for the sole 8GB/128GB variant. There are two color options named Supersonic Black and Supersonic Blue. The sale of the smartphone will begin May 3rd.
