01/6Signs you're spoiling your child
As far as child development is concerned, loving and caring for them is a key aspect of the process. In the absence of these two elements, a child is born to have behavioural issues and may even have trouble co-existing in the society. However, some parents in their attempt to provide the best to their kids, end up spoiling them. Here are some signs you're raising a spoiled kid.
02/6Giving in to your child's tantrums
When a child throws constant tantrums, it's either because he or she wants your attention or because they want their demands to be fulfilled. If you're someone, who always surrenders in front of their crying and yelling or gives in to their unrealistic demands, then you're spoiling them rather than loving them.
03/6Empty threats
While raising kids, there is no way you can deviate from your words or your actions. If your child is behaving poorly and you take severe but necessary actions, it is important that you stick to it. Do not throw empty threats, as it may make your child to take you lightly or for granted.
04/6You hardly let them deal with their emotions
Protecting your kid from difficulties is one thing, but not allowing them to deal with them on their own is another. If you think you love them and are just trying to shield them from difficult emotions, then by not letting them take care of their own feelings, you're not preparing them well for the future. Only when they learn to tackle challenges, will they be able to handle problems in the future.
05/6Bribing is your only resort
Apart from giving in to your child's demands, if you find yourself bribing your way to their heart, then you're just spoiling them. Doing so will only make them choose the easy way out of everything in life, which may seem fine, until they realise that they have no problem-solving abilities. Instead help them see the bigger picture and choose what is right over what is wrong.
06/6You allow your child to talk back and disrespect you
Never let your child disrespect you in any way. While you may think that they're just kids, it will only encourage them to indulge in disruptive behaviour. Therefore, if you really love them, do not overlook them back talking and poor behaviour.
