Raipur, Apr 22 (UNI) Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure same price for Covid-19 vaccine for central and state governments.
As all citizens pay taxes, it would be appropriate for everyone to pay similar price for the vaccine, Baghel said in the letter to Prime Minister.
The letter states that the Covaxin has been developed in collaboration with the Government of India, hence it should be sold at a lower price than that of Serum Institute's Covishield.
To conduct the large-scale vaccination of all above 18 years of age from May 1, a comprehensive action plan is needed so that the State Government can make timely financial arrangements, technical staff training and other necessary preparations, he added.
Mr Baghel had on Wednesday announced free vaccination for all above 18 years of age in the state.
