SHIMLA: Amid sharp increase in Covid-19 cases and related deaths, the Himachal Pradesh cabinet has decided to provide Covid-19 vaccine for people between 18 to 44 years free of cost at government health institutions.
The cabinet has also decided that mobile teams would be constituted at block level to provide better treatment to the Covid-19 patients kept under home isolation and one vehicle would be provided exclusively to each team to shift the seriously ill patients to hospitals.
In the cabinet meeting, chaired by chief minister Jai Ram Thakur, it was decided that each medical college would have dedicated team headed by senior doctors to supervise the Covid-19 cases.
A decision was also taken to provide incentives to the outsourced employees engaged in Covid-19 pandemic at Rs 200 per shift.
It was decided that all the government officials will preferably get vaccinated in government hospitals and health institutions.
The chief minister and his cabinet colleagues also contributed their one month's salary towards Chief Minister's Covid Fund.
The cheques were handed over by Jai Ram Thakur to the chief secretary Anil Khachi.
