Lucknow, Apr 22 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh recorded 34,379 new coronavirus infections and 195 deaths in the past 24 hours.
Due to the infection surge, most of the medical facilities are full of coronavirus patients, sources said.
Many hospital administrations have written to CMO that oxygen in their facility will run out late at night.
Yesterday, 1,96,889 samples were tested, of which 34,379 were found positive for the contagion.
Health department officials here on Thursday that 16,514 people have also been discharged from various hospitals in the said period.
Active cases in the state stand at 2,59,810 and death toll at 10,541.
So far, 94,70,345 people have taken the first dose of vaccine in the state, while, 18,14,824 have also taken the second shot.
Lucknow continued to be the hotspot in the state with 5,239 fresh case and 19 deaths. In a positive for the Uttar Pradesh capital, 6207 people recovered. There are 54,967 active cases in the state capital.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's constituency Varanasi witnessed 1813 fresh cases and 10 deaths. As many as 1385 people were cured and active cases stand at 16,890.
Prayagraj witnessed 2013 cases and 18 deaths on Thursday followed by Kanpur where 1516 new cases were detected along with 18 deaths.
