22 April, Gangtok : The meeting was Chaired by SKM Party President cum Chief Minister Shri PS Golay and attended by Speaker(SLA), Dy.Speaker (SLA), Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, Advisors to HCM, Political Secretary to HCM and Confidential Secretary to HCM.

The meeting vigorously discussed about COVID-19 situation in the state and also regarding the various precautionary measures to be taken in coming days. The meeting stressed on upcoming COVID-19 vaccination programme for 18 years and above.
CM declared that the state is committed to provide free vaccination with no cost for people who fall under this category and the vaccination drive will commence from 1st May.

CM Shri PS Golay informed that as per government data, more than 2.96 lakhs people who are above 18 will be vaccinated in the state. He suggested that all party workers should work together to make this vaccination drive a massive success. Also in the meeting it has been decided that SKM party will form a COVID-19 crisis management team in constituency level which will facilitate the vaccination and COVID-19 awareness drive. He expressed that Jan Kalyan Prakosta of SKM party is doing exceptionally good services to needy patients in the state.

He stated that government is fully committed for better healthcare system in Sikkim and informed that Rs. 11,08,65000/- has been provided to needy patients of Sikkim as medical relief from Chief Minister’s Fund in last 12 months.
CM also announced that all labours entering to the state shall now undergo compulsory COVID-19 testing .

CM also briefed the house regarding the financial status of the state and discussed various aspects of upcoming budget 2021-22. In this regard various suggestions from the members were briefly heard by CM.

Political Secretary Shri Jacob Khaling briefed regarding the ongoing status of membership drive and various issues related to the related to party and government. were discussed thoroughly.

CM and the members present in the meeting expressed their heartiest congratulations and best wishes to all newly elected members of municipal body and stated that the government shall provide all support to municipal bodies in serving the people of Sikkim.

The meeting passes its highest gratitude to all COVID-19 warriors for their relentless efforts and service to the state.
CM advises all to take highest level of precautions to fight against this pandemic.
