High-level committee to probe Nashik oxygen leak: Min Tope

Nashik, Apr 22 (UNI) A seven-member high-level committee will probe into the tragic oxygen leak incident which claimed 24 lives at the civic-run Dr Zakir Hussain Hospital here, announced Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope.

To be headed by Nashik Divisional Commissioner Radhakrishna Game, the committee will comprise of District General Hospital Dy Director of Health Dr PD Gandal, FDA’s Pramod Gunjal and Madhuri Principal of Government Technical College Dnyandev Nathe, civic superintendent engineer Sandeep Nalawade and social worker Hershal Patil.

Speaking at the tragedy spot on Wednesday night, Minister Tope further said that the committee will submit a detailed report to the government after its investigation.

Strict action will be taken against those responsible. Also, SOPs will be prepared through this committee so such incident doesn’t repeat, he asserted amid the presence of Ministers Balasaheb Thorat (Revenue) and Rajendra Shinange (FDA), among other prominent people.
