KLIS will help former Nizamabad district regain its green environment: Pocharam

Nizamabad: Speaker of the meeting, Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, expressed congratulations after the Kaleshwaram project water reached the Nizamabad district and thanked Prime Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. He said the minister’s efforts would increase green coverage in Kamareddy and Nizamabad districts.

On Thursday, the Speaker of the Assembly, Pocharam, the Minister of Housing, Vemula Prashanth Reddy, the Zaheerabad MP BB Patil, Jukkal and the MLA’s Hanumanthu Shinde and Jajua Surender performed poojas to the Kaleshwarm water in the Venkampally town of Nagireddipet Mandal in Kamareddy district.

On the occasion, speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy expressed congratulations on reaching Kaleshwaram waters as far as the Nizamsagar project and said that the people in the area are migrating to other areas before the construction of the Nizamsagar project. But after the construction of the Nizamsagar project, the former district of Nizamabad flourished for almost 60 years. But later the area lost its charm due to the construction of illegal projects on the Manjeera River in neighboring Maharashtra and Karnataka.

The Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts will once again reclaim their greenery with the Kaleshwaram waters and efforts of Prime Minister Chandrashekhar Rao.

Speaker Pocharam said that with this water farmers can grow two crops in the districts of Nizamabad and Kamareddy, and that it is not necessary to be dependent on the rainfall for vanakalam crops. Now there is 6.4 TMC water in the Nizamsagar project, and another 6 TMC is needed to grow two crops and will provide permanent solution to the irrigation water needs. With the Kaleshwaram 22 package, irrigation water is brought to the Kamareddy and Yellareddy Assembly constituencies.

Housing Minister Prashanth Reddy said the Kaleshwaram project is one of the unique irrigation schemes in the world, and this is only possible due to the efforts of Prime Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao. Pocharam Srinivas Reddy persuaded CM Chandrashekhar Rao to bring Kaleshwaram water to Nizamsagar, and strove to fulfill the dreams of the former district farmers in Nizamabad. Kamareddy ZP Chairman D Shobha Raju, DCCB Chairman, Pocharam Bhaskar Reddy, officials and public representatives participated in the program.
