Noida: Private schools affiliated to CBSE or ICSE can independently decide whether to continue with online classes as the state education department has no specific guidelines yet for imposing an early summer vacation, the district inspector of schools has said.
“Private schools affiliated to CBSE/ICSE can plan school schedule as they wish, the state government has only stopped offline classes till May 15 but there are no restrictions on online classes. If schools want to close for summer holidays now or reschedule their calendar, it is up to them,” district inspector Dharam Vir Singh told TOI.
On Monday, Amity International School, Noida, shut down their campus calling in an early summer vacation in response to the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, other schools in the city have not decided on an early summer vacation yet.
Preeti Sangwan, principal of Cambridge School, Noida, said, “We have not taken a decision yet. In my opinion, it is important to keep children occupied in meaningful activities...”
“We have so far not issued any orders to reschedule holidays,” DPS Noida officials said.
In Ghaziabad, the district inspector of schools Ravi Datt said that the education department will not interfere in school schedules. “The government order states that there shall be no physical or offline schools till May 15. But there are no restrictions on online classes.”
