India’s Vaccination Drive: Health Ministry claims over 13 crore vaccine doses administered in just 95 days
The union health ministry has issued a statement regarding the vaccination drive of India. It says over 13 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered so far.

According to the Health Ministry of India, in the past 95 days, India has administered more than 13 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses. Also, the cumulative number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has reached 13,01,19,310 with 29,90,197 vaccine doses being administered in a span of 24 hours, as quoted by ANI.

“These include 92,01,728 HCW’s who have taken the 1st dose and 58,17,262 HCW’s who have taken the second dose, 1,15,62,535 FLW’s (1st dose), 58,55,821 FLW’s (2nd dose), 4,73,55,942 1st dose beneficiaries, and 53,04,679 2nd dose beneficiaries more than 60 years old and 4,35,25,687 (st dose) and 14,95,656 (2nd dose) beneficiaries aged 45 to 60 years,” said the health ministry.
Although, states like Maharashtra, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Rajasthan constitute 59.25% of the total vaccine doses administered in the country so far.
In addition to this, Maharashtra, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Punjab are included in the list of worst-hit states in the country. In the national capital, the total number of cases stands at 9,06,000. Even the situation of Delhi-NCR has exacerbated as the city reported 24,375 fresh Covid cases on Saturday.
In the wake of escalating rates of the Coronavirus, the Delhi government has imposed several restrictions on the inter-state as well as intra-state movement of people. On Monday, Delhi CM Kejriwal has announced a complete lockdown till the 26th of April, 2021. In a meeting, CM Kejriwal has appealed to the masses not to step out of their premises unless it’s necessary. As the contagion is rising and the Delhi hospitals are facing a dearth of beds.
In Maharashtra as well, the Thackeray government has declared a night curfew in order to take a grip over Covid-19.
Additionally, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Karnataka, and Punjab have also imposed night curfews.
