GURUGRAM: A total of 8,996 people in the 45-plus age group on Tuesday got vaccinated in the city. Of the 180 session sites, 124 were at government facilities and 56 at private hospitals.
Overall, 4.28 lakh people in the city are eligible for getting the jabs in this category, of whom 3.30 lakh have taken their shots.
Meanwhile, 441 healthcare workers and 877 frontline workers also got the jab on Tuesday, taking their total tally to 54,631 and 37,791, respectively.
“We are preparing to inoculate people in the 18-plus category from May 1. At present, we are collecting the population data and figuring out how to create more session sites in the coming phase. Our teams have been carrying out vaccination drives since January 16. We are aiming to inoculate the maximum people in less time,” said Dr Virender Yadav, chief medical officer of Gurugram.
