Apple's "Spring Loaded" was primarily about AirTag, new iMac, and new iPad Pro but it also made a minor iPhone-related announcement. The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini models have received a new Purple color option. It will be joining the already available colors and will take the count of total colors to six.

The new color option is the only difference that you will see as everything else about iPhone 12 models is the same. It has also launched MagSafe Leather Case and Leather Sleeve in Deep Violet to help users complement the Purple variant. The new color variant will go on sale from April 23rd with shipment starting next week i.e. April 30th.

Greg Joswiak, SVP of Worldwide Marketing at Apple said:

“The incredible iPhone 12 is the most popular smartphone in the world, and the iPhone 12 family has an over 99 percent customer satisfaction rate. The new purple finish, just in time for spring, adds another bright and fun option to the lineup, and we think customers are going to love it".

It was just last week that a Counterpoint report revealed iPhone 12 to be the best-selling smartphone for the month of January 2021. It was followed by the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max at the second and third positions respectively. The iPhone 12 mini managed to grab the eighth spot which is not surprising as its sales have been below par since the early days of the launch.
