Shayanna Jenkins took to Instagram on the anniversary of Aaron Hernandez's death to pay tribute to her fiancé.
On 19 April 2017 the athlete was found hanging in his prison cell – he was serving a life sentence for the murder of Odin Lloyd. In Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez, Netflix documented how the NFL star became a convicted killer in a three-part docuseries.
He was engaged to Shayanna Jenkins at the time of his death, and the two share daughter, Avielle together.
"Since you've been gone, the loss hasn't gotten any easier ... I still hurt. I still cry. I still wonder why. Your memory is what gets me through each day as I remember all the special things about you. [sic]," Shayanna shared on Instagram on Monday. "... you are missed, loved and thought of heavily today," she continued, adding: "Avielle and I continue to talk about you and keep your presence alive .[sic]"
She concluded, with the football player's jersey number and the hashtag "#foreverlove": "May you continue to Rest In Peace and watch over us daily. With love always and forever. [sic]"
