Health secy tests +ve, devpt commissioner takes charge

Ranchi: Soon after state health secretary Kamal Kishore Soan tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday morning, the government gave development commissioner Arun Kumar Singh the additional charge as interim secretary of the health department.
Soan, a 1998-batch IAS officer, tested positive along with his wife Aradhana Patnaik and their son. Aradhana is also a 1998 batch IAS officer and the secretary of the state rural development department. The couple, who are in their mid-forties are now in home isolation, sources close to the officers said. Apart from Soan and his wife, several IAS officers in the state have also contracted the viral infection in the past couple of weeks.
Asst director of urban devpt dept dies of Covid
Ranchi: Meghana Ruby Kachchap, a Jharkhand Public Service officer and assistant director of the state urban development department succumbed to the Covid-19 disease on Tuesday. Kachhap was 46. She died at a hospital in Hazaribag after her health deteriorated and shifted there along with her mother. Her mother, who was also infected, had died on Monday night.
