Hyderabad: In view of the rise of COVID-19 cases, the Telangana government decided to cancel the SSC exam. The SSC board must now award degrees to students.
It is likely that the students will get degrees based on FA1 assessment. Students who did not show up for the assessment but registered for it are likely to achieve at least a minimum pass mark in all the subjects.
The director of the government’s inquiry, Satyanarayana Reddy, said: “It seems the council has no option but to award marks based on FA1 assessment”. He added that nearly 90 percent of students wrote FA1 exams taken in March 2021.
The director said that even the students’ attendance could not be considered as a benchmark as the schools were only open 1-2 months.
The SSC council will submit its proposal to the government by April 26, an official said.
It can be mentioned that the government of Telangana recently canceled the SSC exam which was to be held from 17 May. It was also decided to promote all students of the first-year students without taking exams. However, interim second-year exams scheduled from May 1 to May 19 have been postponed.
With regard to TS EAMCET, it has been decided that there will be no interim weight in the entrance examination in the current year. Earlier, 25 percent weight was given to intermediate points while the EAMCET rank was decided.
