PUNE: Scuffle between two gangs has left one dead and another injured at Ota Scheme in Nigdi since Monday night.
Around 9pm on Monday, a gang of six men assaulted one Akash Kamble (24) of Pimpri with sharp weapons in Nigdi. The suspects then threatened people with sharp weapons and fled the spot.
An officer from the Pimpri Chinchwad police said Kamble was taken to a hospital where he succumbed during treatment on Tuesday.
To avenge Kamble’s death, his aides assaulted one Raman on Tuesday. “Raman sustained severe injuries in the attack and is undergoing treatment at a hospital,” the officer said, adding that the attacks were a fallout of previous enmity between the two gangs.
Deputy commissioner of police (Pimpri Chinchwad) Manchak Ipper said, “We are in the process of registering an FIR in the case. Our probe is on.”
