Hyderabad: Telangana’s daily COVID-19 cases continue to rise and a one-day record increase of 6,542 new infections was recorded during the past 24 hours, increasing the total positive to more than 3.67 lakh, while the toll rose to 1876 with another 20 deaths.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is in charge of most cases with 898, followed by Medchal Malkajgiri 570 and Rangareddy 532, a government bulletin said on Wednesday with details from 20 April at 20:00.
The number of cumulative cases was 3,67,901, while the total recovery was 3,19,537 after 2,887 patients were cured.
The state has 46,488 active cases and more than 1.30 lakh samples were tested Tuesday.
Cumulatively, more than 1.20 peak samples were tested.
The samples tested per million inhabitants were more than 3.24 lakh, according to the bulletin.
The death rate in the state was 0.50 percent, while at the national level it was 1.2 percent.
The recovery rate in Telangana was 86.85 percent while it was 85 percent in the country.
According to a separate release, more than 28.68 lakh people in the state received their first dose COVID-19 vaccine while more than four lakh also got their second shot on April 20th.
