Last night, Apple announced a bevy of new products and tweaks to existing products during its ‘Spring Loaded’ event at their One Apple Park Way HQ in Cupertino, California.
Apple announced its product line for this year including Apple Card changes, Airtags, a new purple iPhone 12, Apple TV 4K, iMac(featuring a 1080p webcam, fancy new colours, a 4.5K display, new Bluetooth Magic Keyboard with TouchID fingerprint sensor) and iPad Pro(5G, Liquid Retina XDR display) now with the company’s speedy M1 chip that first launched with its MacBook laptops last year, added subscriptions and new UI on its redesigned podcast app.
It was an online launch and people shared their thoughts on Twitter. Here are some of the best.

The most interesting question about the new iPad Pro: does the “all day battery life” match the M1-equipped MacBook Air/Pro? Because at the moment, the iPad Pro isn’t as good.

AirTags are now an official thing. Using encrypted FindMy network to locate lost items, a la Tile. This has been rumored for a long time, and is likely part of Apple's broader strategy of creating visual and audio layers on top of physical world. ($29 for a tag)

I’m convinced.
So here’s the thing. The iPad Pro was already a mile and a half ahead of every other tablet in performance. M1 iPad Pro is going to be unreal, but… still an iPad? There’s gotta be other changes.

With AirTags, my mind immediately went to how they could be misused by stalkers/domestic abusers, but it's interesting to see how Apple has thought about that https://t.co/ogeTn06lsz
— Olivia Solon (@oliviasolon) April 20, 2021
How Apple will prevent people from stalking you by slipping an AirTag into your bag. Sounds pretty good! https://t.co/evNsu4aW0f

another thing w/r/t the Apple Pod news:
— Nick Quah (@nwquah) April 20, 2021
according to an email I obtained, “The NPR Board has endorsed plans for NPR to develop a 'public radio podcast subscription service.’”
i just reject that framing. at a time of massive rising inequality of which Apple is a huge beneficiary, capturing the maximum amount of revenue created by their platforms should not be how it approaches the creator economy

Apple should just stop making an 11” iPad Pro. It barely mentioned the smaller model today, and for good reason — other than upgrading to the M1 chip, there was no reason to get excited. It lacks the Mini-LED XDR display, which is *the* feature of the Pro this year. #AppleEvent

Magic Keyboard with TOUCH ID YEAH BABY!
— Quinn Nelson (@SnazzyQ) April 20, 2021
I get that Apple doesn't care about users like me, but I'd love, LOVE, an iMac that can double up as a display for a Windows PC. Just give me one neat computer I can sit on my desk for work, and that lets me plug in a PC when I want to game

I had thought Apple would require some kind of exclusivity but am told that’s not so: you can distribute pod with ads on Spotify, Apple etc and sell ad-free via Apple too.
Apple Card: Family is terrific but needs international badly.
— Rene Ritchie (@reneritchie) April 20, 2021
Podcasts: Awesome.
Apple TV: For A12 I’d expected a lower cost, still hoping for an A14 version. New remote looks fire.
iMac: Digging the two-tone and Pixar vibe, missing the logo
iPad Pro: mini-LED. Want.
If Apple really thinks I’m going to shell out a couple grand for a new iMac just because they made it in a bunch of cute little colors, they are absolutely correct. See y’all in May. #AppleEvent pic.twitter.com/bA3QpnV0qB
