JALANDHAR: Accusing Delhi Police of ducking its RTI (Right to Information) queries about the specimens of “Khalistani, Hindu Rashtra, and other banned flags”, pro-farmer ‘Tractor2Twitter’ group has vowed legal action against the television channels that it claimed had projected a "Sikh flag" as Khalistani in their coverage of the Red Fort episode.
Ludhiana dental surgeon Dr Mandeep Singh Bains of this team had run a social-media campaign of asking Delhi Police about any specimen of a Khalistani flag it had to compare with what was pitched on the Red Fort during the farmers’ Republic Day tractor parade. The online RTI application to the additional deputy commissioner of police, first North District, came to the Kotwali station house officer (SHO), who replied that the first three questions should be put to the Archaeological Survey of India’s office at the Red Fort.
Tractor2Twitter said on Monday: "Only the Delhi Police headquarters and not an ordinary police station will have the information we seek. But their answer suggests there is nothing like a banned flag of Khalistan that couldn’t be hoisted. If news channels call a Sikh flag Khalistani, we will take legal action."
