Nashik Oxygen Leak: Mah CM announces probe, Rs 5L compensation

Aurangabad/Mumbai, Apr 21(UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday announced a probe into the Nashik Hospital oxygen leak incident as well as Rs 5 lakh compensation to the kin of deceased.

Expressing shock at the loss of lives, the CM said, 'I have no words to express this grief. Suddenly, an accident like this happens while the Maharashtra government is betting on the patient to recover.'

He further said, 'The entire system of the state is carrying itself into this war to break the chain of corona. Due to shortage of oxygen, medicines and beds patients are dying.'

'How can we comfort the relatives of the dead? How to wipe their tears? The grief of the relatives of the deceased is great. This accident will be investigated in depth,' he added.

'Those who will be responsible for this accident, will not be spared, but no one should politicize this unfortunate incident,' he asserted.

'This is an attack on the whole of Maharashtra. The whole of Maharashtra is mourning over the tragedy in Nashik! This incident in Nashik is not only shocking for all but also teaches the administration that we have to be very careful in this whole struggle,' he bemoaned.

'Today we have been facing a wave of covid for the past year. The available doctors and medical staff are working day and night to save the lives of the patients. It is heartbreaking to see such a situation. Such incidents should not happen in the future,' he affirmed.
