KKR vs CSK Live Score, IPL 2021, Match 15: Faf du Plessis's unbeaten 95 takes CSK to 220/3

21:24 (IST)

After 20 overs,Chennai Super Kings 220/3 ( Faf du Plessis 95 , Ravindra Jadeja 6)

Despite having leaked runs left, right and centre, Pat Cummins is given the ball for the final over. First ball is great, it's a dot, but the second is absolutely hammered for six by du Plessis! Pumped over long-off with aplomb! A dot follows, and then du Plessis pulls a bouncer for another six, over square leg!! Excellent batting, he's just one six away from a century. Oh no wait, he's taken a single, and with just one ball left, it doesn't look like he'll get to a hundred. Still, this will live long in the memories of CSK fans! Ravindra Jadeja to play the very last ball, what can he do? Well, he can hit it for a six! It's hit straight to Rana at the midwicket boundary, who fluffs the catch big time and ends up lobbing it over the boundary rope all on his own. The way KKR have fielded tonight, you'd think they have money on CSK winning. Anyway, it's a pretty impressive total of 220/3 from CSK, they've done well to put themselves in prime position to win this match. We'll be back in a bit, as KKR prepare to chase down this daunting total.

21:24 (IST)

Six! Ravindra Jadeja ends CSK's batting with a six, that one is helped across the boundary rope by some atrocious fielding from Rana. CSK 220/3

21:19 (IST)

6! Another six for du Plessis. This one's over square leg! CSK 213/3

21:18 (IST)

6! Sensational! What a shot from Faf du Plessis! Pumped over long-off! CSK 207/3

21:16 (IST)

After 19 overs,Chennai Super Kings 201/3 ( Faf du Plessis 82 , Ravindra Jadeja 0)

Andre Russell to bowl the penultimate over, and it begins with a dot, before Faf du Plessis unleashes three fours, back-to-back-to-back! It's been a real heroic stint from the South African out there, and he looks determined to single-handedly drag Chennai Super Kings to the highest-possible total. The last four had more to do with Shubman Gill's inept fielding though, he lets it go straight through his hands. Russell also helps out the CSK cause with a couple of wides, but he does get a wicket on the final ball, as Dhoni departs thanks to a spectacular Eoin Morgan catch

21:16 (IST)

OUT! What a catch Eoin Morgan, take a bow! It's hit hard and low, but the Englishman gets down well and holds on to it for dear life. Dhoni's gone! MS Dhoni c Morgan b Russell 17 (8)

21:12 (IST)

4! And it's another boundary, this one is all down to some terrible fielding from Shubman Gill. CSK 198/2

21:11 (IST)

4! 4! Back-to-back boundaries from Faf du Plessis! CSK 192/2

21:10 (IST)

After 18 overs,Chennai Super Kings 186/2 ( Faf du Plessis 69 , MS Dhoni (C) (W) 17)

Prasidh Krishna continues with his final over. So it's going to be Cummins and Russell to end the bowling. A dot and a single to begin, before Dhoni hits it straight up into the air, but it's safe, no one's getting to it in time. Dhoni and du Plessis run a double at full-tilt. Great athleticism from the veterans, really speaks to the fitness levels of modern day cricket. A couple of singles and a wide or two, before Dhoni steps up and tries to whack a slower ball. He misses, but it bounces off the back of the bat and loops over the keeper for four. Dhoni then hammers a six over midwicket to end the over!

21:08 (IST)

Six! The last one was a bit lucky, but there's no doubt Dhoni meant this one! He hammers a six into the stands! CSK 186/2
