Gurgaon: On Monday, a total of 10,314 people — who are 45-plus age group — got vaccinated in the city at 200 session sites. Of the 200 sites, 144 were at government facilities and 56 at private hospitals.
Overall, 4.28 lakh people in Gurgaon are eligible for getting the jabs, and so far, 3.21 lakh have taken the jab. Meanwhile, 338 healthcare workers and 970 frontline workers also got the jab on Monday, taking their total tally to 54,190 and 36,914, respectively.
In this phase, 41,997 recipients have been inoculated in the city. “Although the cases have been rising daily in the city, we are still ensuring that we vaccinate more and more people who are eligible at present at the earliest ,” said Dr Virender Yadav, chief medical officer, Gurgaon.
To achieve the maximum target, the
health department has planned to set up sites in villages too which will be linked with the nearest AEFI centres. Private
Covid vaccine centres (CVCs) have been asked to provide
vaccination up to their maximum capacity. Residents’ welfare associations (RWAs) have been asked to help with arranging vaccination camps on the lines of workplaces.
