Govt hospital nurse among 2 arrested for black marketing of Remdesivir injections in Parbhani

Parbhani, Apr 20 (UNI) The Local Crime Branch on Tuesday arrested two people, including a nurse of District Government Hospital, for allegedly selling Remdesivir injections on the black market.
Following the revelation that some employees in the district government hospital were selling Remdesivir injections on the black market, an LCB team sent a dummy customer for buying the injections illegally.
Accordingly, an accused agreed to sell two such injections for Rs 30,000 and asked the dummy customer to meet him near Beleshwar temple on Nandkheda road, police said.
Following which, the LCB team today set a trap, caught the accused and took him into custody.
During questioning, accused Datta Shivaji Bhalerao (21) told the police that he had procured the injections from one Anita Keshav Kale, a nurse in the district government hospital, for Rs 12,000 each.
The squad immediately arrested the nurse, who told police that she had stolen the injections from the Covid Centre in the new building of the Zilla Parishad.
The squad seized seven injections, cash of Rs 75,000 and a mobile phone from the residence of the nurse.
A criminal case has been registered against the duo, sources added.
