New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has tested positive for COVID-19, he announced with a tweet on Tuesday, April 20.
“After experiencing mild symptoms, I’ve just tested positive for COVID. All those who’ve been in contact with me recently, please follow all safety protocols and stay safe,” he wrote.

Hours before testing positive, Gandhi had criticised the Centre’s new rules for phase three of the nationwide vaccination process, noting that opening up the market for vaccines would meant that there would be “no free vaccines for 18-45 year olds,” that “middlemen brought in without price controls” and that now, there would be “no vaccine guarantee for weaker sections.”
A day ago Gandhi had announced that his party would not be holding any campaign rallies in West Bengal, which is in the middle of eight phase polls, considering the rise in the COVID-19 case count across the country.
