Covid positive patient commits suicide in Civil Hospital at Ludhiana

LUDHIANA: Allegedly upset with financial problem, a Covid positive patient ended his life by hanging self inside his room in Covid ward of Civil Hospital here on Tuesday evening.
Police identified the deceased as 35-year-old Satpal of Shimlapuri, who was a daily wage earner.
Local sources said that Satpal was admitted in a private hospital after he developed symptoms and on testing his report had come positive. They added that on Monday he was brought to Civil Hospital where his test was done again and report came positive.
Local sources further said that Satpal was allegedly upset because of his financial condition. They added that he allegedly hung himself with ceiling fan in his room around 6pm on Tuesday after which police was informed about it by hospital authorities.
On being informed, cops from Division Number two police station reached the spot and started probe into the matter.
