In 2020, Vijay Deverakonda announced his new project with director Sukumar, who is known for films like Arya, Rangasthalam and others. Now the production banner Falcon Creations has cleared the air and said that it is not shelved and it is pretty much on track. The statement of the production house reads, "Falcon Creations has announced its prestigious maiden project with Hero Vijay Deverakonda in the direction of Sukumar sir This project shall start as planned, once the pre-existing commitments of Hero and Director are completed Do not believe misinformation being spread by some sections. Meanwhile, Vijay Deverakonda will be next seen in his first pan-India film Liger, which also stars Ananya Panday, Ronit Roy and Ramya Krishnan in pivotal roles. The Hindi version of the film is presented by Karan Johar under his banner Dharma Productions. The film is directed by Puri Jagannadh, who is known for delivering blockbusters like Badri, Pokiri, Desamuduru, Neninthe, Golimaar, Businessman, Temper, Iddarammayilatho and others. On the other hand, Sukumar is busy with Allu Arjun's Pushpa, which also features Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in key roles. It is set in the backdrop of red sanders smuggling in the Seshachalam forests. DSP (Devi Sri Prasad) is the composer of the music of the film. It is scheduled to hit the screens on August 13.
