I thought it was going to take longer but its going to be wild on how it shakes up ISPs when it goes live to whoever wants it
https://www.google.com/amp/s/hypebea...cement%3famp=1Though SpaceX‘s new Starlink satellite is currently in an extremely limited beta testing period, Elon Musk has taken to Twitter to confirm that SpaceX is already thinking ahead to allow the service to work on moving vehicles.
The latest announcement comes from Musk himself, who stated that the current Starlink terminals are too big for Tesla’s vehicles but plans to target larger moving vehicles such as planes, trucks, ships and RVs. This news comes after SpaceX has filed an FCC request to being installing Starlink components on these vehicles.
This would be a drastic change for Starlink as it currently does not allow customers to move the existing hardware between addresses. Since the Starlink satellite is not yet fully built out, there is still a functional limitation of the system. Musk takes to Twitter to clarify that the satellite “should be fully mobile later this year, so you can move it anywhere or use it on an RV or truck in motion. We need a few more satellite launches to achieve [complete] coverage & some key software upgrades.”
Elon Musk nor SpaceX have confirmed the date on which Starlink will become fully available.
