Bollywood's veteran star Anupam Kher is a regular on social media. Be it sharing, selfies, workout videos, anecdotes, random observations, or just updates on his life– the 'Saaransh' actor knows how to keep his millions of fans engaged. Recently, the global actor, in an interview shared the secret of survival in the entertainment industry for decades. He said, 'I always see myself in the new people. That is why I understand them. I try to be kind and compassionate to them. I came to this city on the 3rd of June, 1981, which is 40 years back. This is a very dignified bald look. To come at a time in the early '80s, when half my hair was coming out from here and from there, and I was so thin that I could see through a keyhole with both my eyes! At that time, to dare to be an actor in cinema was unheard of'. He further added, 'What kept me going was that I was a gold medallist from drama school. I don't wish anyone the tough times I had, whether it was sleeping on the railway platform or not getting food. But now there are so many avenues -- TV shows, casting offices, casting directors. Back then, it was unheard of. People would tell me, 'Why don't you become a writer or an assistant director? An actor? You don't have hair!'. Meanwhile, Kher added yet another feather to his hat as he joined the jury panel for the BAFTA Breakthrough India Initiative, which selected 10 winners from the fields of television, films and games. Talking about the initiative, he said, 'It is about talented Indian people who are recipients of this fellowship and award. That makes me feel proud, responsible, and wonderful to be part of this jury'. Now, on the professional front, the actor will next be seen in the short film 'Happy Birthday' opposite Ahana Kumra. A few days back, he also treated fans with the first look poster of his upcoming film which received a positive response from his fans. While on the personal front, Kher is a doting husband to his wife Kirron Kher, who is suffering from blood cancer. Sharing the news with his fans and well-wishers on social media, the actor wrote ‘Just so that rumours don’t get the better of a situation Sikandar and I would like to inform everyone that Kirron has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer. She is currently undergoing treatment and we are sure she will come out of this stronger than before. We are very blessed that she is being looked after by a phenomenal set of doctors. She’s always been a fighter and takes things head-on.’ Elaborating further, he added, 'She is all heart and that is why she has so many people that love her. So keep sending your love to her in your prayers and in your heart. She is well on her way to recovery and we thank everyone for their support and love. Anupam and Sikandar'.
