Chandigarh: Punjab recorded 4,653 new Covid-19 cases and 84 deaths due to the virus on Monday, taking the state’s caseload to 3,04,660 and casualties to 7,985 while the active cases were 35,311. Meanwhile, 3,418 Covid patients were discharged across the state during the day and 29,741 samples collected for testing.
Mohali district registered the highest number of cases (792), followed by Ludhiana (758), Jalandhar (380), Amritsar (342) and Patiala (304).

A total number of 80,523 people were vaccinated during the day, raising vaccination tally in the state to 24,99,599. As many as 8,706 health care and frontline workers and 59,843 people above 45 years of age got their first dose of vaccine, while 2,482 health care and frontline workers and 9,492 people in 45+ group got their second dose.
