In order to renew the DNI, passport and registration, the complete vaccination card must be presented.

The Senate approved on Wednesday a law that establishes the obligatory nature and free of vaccination against preventable diseases for all the inhabitants of the country, and stipulates that the complete vaccination card will be required at the time of processing the DNI, passport and driving record , among others.

The project was promoted by the Tucuman deputy Pablo Yedlin (Front Justicialista by Tucumán), and will replace the law 22,909, which is in force since 1983. So far, the mandatory vaccination applies only to children and the new project will be made extensive also to adults.

In order to renew the DNI, passport or driving record, the vaccination certificate must be presented to date.

The Senate yesterday approved a law that requires all Argentines to present the vaccination certificate daily in order to process or renew the ID, pbadport, driver's license, residence or prenuptial certificate. The regulation -which updates Law 22.909 in force since 1983- emerged from a project of the Tucumán legislator Pablo Yedlin.

Until now, the requirement to have vaccines up to date was only for children and their certificate was required to enroll in schools. However, with the modification, now adults, according to their age, will also need the document to carry out these procedures. The update of the law also establishes the gratuity of the vaccination and its tax exemption. "The State must guarantee the purchase of vaccines and supplies," says the text.

It was also established that the document that will be presented is the so-called Unique Vaccination Card (CUV), in which the obligatory vaccination records must be kept and it will have to generate access to the vaccines for the population. The card will be issued by the agencies authorized to apply vaccines, such as hospitals (public and private) and pharmacies. It will also be required to process family allowances and examinations. The law clarifies, among several things, that "the lack of compliance with the established presentation will not be an obstacle in the prosecution of the proceedings".

As clarified, adults will be asked to apply the hepatitis B and double bacterial adults. Those who were born after 1965 include triple viral (measles, mumps and rubella). Those who exceed this age should be given the anti-flu and pneumococcal.

Among other modifications, the new legislation provides that adults and guardians of minors will be responsible for their vaccination, but in case of non-compliance "will generate actions of the corresponding jurisdictional health authority".

Among other considerations of the law, clarifies that the absence of work is justified on the day the vaccine is applied, with the prior authorization of the employer, and presenting the evidence. The creation of the National Registry of the Digital Vaccinated Population is also foreseen, where the vaccination data of all the inhabitants of the country will be kept and it was established on August 26 of each year as National Vaccination Day.
