Now, everyone above 18 will be eligible for vaccination and it will start from May 1. This is indeed great news amidst the surge in Covid-19 cases in the country.

Riteish Deshmukh tweeted, “Its a great decision by the government to open up the covid 19 vaccination for everyone above 18 years old. #vaccineforall.”.

“Excellent news that all above 18 can get vaccinated . But all our young Indians do remember this vaccination is not making us SuperMan or IronMan – just SaferMan !! Got the point . We still need to mask up and be super careful – long journey ahead.”, wrote Ronnie Screwvala.

India began it's first phase of the vaccine in January using two Covid vaccines - Covishield and India Covaxin.

India is hit by the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic and the country has clocked over two lakh cases daily in the past few days. At this time of crisis, today’s announcement by the government brings a ray of hope.
