Mah: Two held for black marketing Remdesivir; near Rs 2L injections seized

Kolhapur, Apr 20 (UNI) Two youths were arrested here on Tuesday for allegedly black marketing remdesivir injection, which is used in COVID treatment but is scarcely available at present due to high demand.
The duo accused have been identified as Parag Vijaykumar Patil (26) and Yougesh Rajkumar Waghmare (24).
According to the Local Crime Branch, Parag stole the injections from the pharmacy where he worked and subsequently colluded with Yougesh to illegally sell off the life-saving drug.
Acting on a tip-off, the LCB and FDA jointly laid a trap at Sasne ground and nabbed the duo accused when they came to sell three remdesivir injections at a price of Rs 18,000 each.
Upon frisking them, a total of 11 shots totally worth Rs 1.98 lakhs were found in their possession, LCB stated.
