Police arrest one in drug peddling case

Kakching, April 18 2021: Following up on the disclosure made by the accused Irengbam Somorjit Singh who was arrested by Kakching police on March 15, 2021, along with 5 plastic packet of WY-Tablets weighing 5.482 Kg, a team of Kakching District Police led by Additional SP(L/O), Kakching under the supervision of SP/Kakching arrested Sinam Shambu @ Rakesh Singh (33) S/o (L) S Keshori Singh of Kakching Lamkhai on April 15.Apart from phones, a Tata truck used for carrying contrabands was also seized by the police.

It may be mentioned that Irengbam Somorjit Singh (33) s/o (L) I Basanta Singh of Kakching Irum Mapal A/P Kakching Lamkhai was arrested on March 15 by Inspector Md Abash Khan, OC Commando Unit, Kakching near Christian Church and handed over to the Kakching Police Station for taking necessary action.

Accordingly, a case was registered and investigation was going on.

The arrested Irengbam Somorjit Singh was remanded into Judicial custody on March 23.Later, as disclosed by the accused Irengbam Somorjit Singh, it was ascertained that Sinam Shambu was involved in the case and attempts were made to arrest Sinam Shambu Singh.
